Island Outpost’s GoldenEye was featured in Forbes.com in an article entitled, The Adventurous, Indulgent Carribean: 9 Resorts for Having It Both Ways. Forbes describes Island Outpost owner, Chris Blackwell, as breaking the trend of Jamaica being known as the “beach flop” capital. The article notes that the Blackwell is an avid jet-skiier, so much so that he was featured in the Wall Street Journal for his talent. That being said, GoldenEye provides the same kind of active lifestyle opportunity to guests. Activities include, stand-up paddle boarding in both the sea and the lagoon, bike riding into nearby Ocho Rios, or Noel Coward’s Jamaican home, Firefly, (if invited, of course) which is now owned by Blackwell himself. Forbes also describes GoldenEye’s other activities including open-air yoga and fitness classes hosted by the pool deck.
