Rocker-chic fashion line Haute Hippie and celebrated Jamaican hotel GoldenEye proudly present “All Things Gold,” a resort-wear collection that epitomizes the timeless, free-spirited, laidback-luxe vibe for which both brands are known. The collection will be available at Haute Hippie stores and online this Fall as well as on-site at GoldenEye and sister Island Outpost property Strawberry Hill Hotel, Spa & Gardens.
Having tapped into the powerful allure of the lush estate that once inspired author Ian Fleming to pen all fourteen James Bond novels, Haute Hippie founder and designer Trish Wescoat Pound has created a collection that at once captures and amplifies the sensual simplicity of glamorous Jamaica. Designed to highlight the natural beauty of the wearer, each piece from the “All Things Gold” collection is infused with the elegant ‘global nomad’ sensibility that informs the Haute Hippie style while whispering of the relaxed beauty of the island, the rich heritage of Fleming and Bond, and the rock ‘n’ roll legacy of music industry legend Chris Blackwell, GoldenEye’s owner.
The collaborative line features an array of sexy yet sophisticated silhouettes ideal for a Jamaican jaunt. Choose a cascading, ruffled gown for dinner at GoldenEye’s Gazebo restaurant that overlooks the exceptional lagoon. Throw an intricate, hand-embellished cloak over a pair of edgy “All Things Gold” denims for sunset cocktails at Bizot Bar. And complete any look by adding some cool Haute Hippie rocker accessories.
True to the name of the collection and of the glittering essence of GoldenEye, the limited-edition pieces have been produced in a rainbow of shades of gold, from soft swans and sands to delicate nude and champagne tones to effervescent metallics. The use of texture through hand-beaded embellishments, special knits, and novelty fabrics takes the sense of intrigue inherent to the collection to an entirely tactile level.
Exemplifying the effortless style and powerful magnetism that personify the Bond Girl and Haute Hippie woman alike are pieces such as the “Xenia Onatopp,” a bronze lamé twist-front gown with a dangerously seductive front slit, and the “Pussy Galore,” a shimmering jersey mini-dress guaranteed to leave admirers feeling shaken and stirred.
The collection also marks Haute Hippie’s first foray into swimwear. A gorgeous gold-painted python bikini (perfect for soaking up the rays on GoldenEye’s private beaches) and a Bond Girl-worthy metallic gold crocheted one-piece (ideal attire for a sunset spin on one of Blackwell’s powerful jet skis) are just two of the gleaming “All Things Gold” swimsuits that will launch this October.
Founded by designer Trish Wescoat Pound, Haute Hippie is the expression of a love affair with clothing. From boy shorts to ball gowns, each piece in the Haute Hippie collection is inspired and designed by people who are passionate about the clothing they create. Haute Hippie embodies the spirit of the global nomad – blending vintage, urban chic and other cultural influences from around the world. The Haute Hippie woman is as comfortable exploring the jungles of Peru as she is the streets of New York; a true citizen of the world – comfortable in her own skin and free from the need to conform to trends. A believer in the democratization of fashion without compromising luxury, Trish infuses Haute Hippie with the same carefree – yet sophisticated – aesthetic that characterizes every aspect of her life. Founded in 2008, Haute Hippie is sold in over 100 stores across the United States and more than 40 countries worldwide.
GoldenEye overlooks the Caribbean Sea in the quiet village of Oracabessa Bay on Jamaica’s north coast. Built by the novelist Ian Fleming as his Jamaican retreat, GoldenEye is where Fleming wrote all 14 James Bond novels. Today, GoldenEye is an award-winning Island Outpost hotel. It is owned by Chris Blackwell, the Jamaica-raised founder of Island Records. Built in 1949, GoldenEye reopened in 2010 following a two-year renovation. The hotel now encompasses Fleming’s original villa, three villas built by Blackwell, plus nine new Beach Cottages, two new Lagoon Cottages and six new Lagoon Suites. GoldenEye is sited on 52 stunning acres and is home to secret coves, breathtaking private beaches, tropical forests and a singular lagoon. Two new restaurants—The Gazebo and Bizot Bar—serve quintessential Jamaica-style food and signature cocktails mixed with Blackwell Fine Jamaica Rum. FieldSpa is the home base for the fitness and activities program. Treatments are given by the water, in-room, or at Royal Palm, the lagoon-side villa where open-air treatment rooms are a sanctuary for massage, salt scrubs, skin brightening facials, herbal wraps, and energy work. A pioneer in a variety of green initiatives, GoldenEye supports the Oracabessa Foundation, which educates and encourages sustainable development within the community.
