NASSAU, Bahamas (November 1, 2006) – Originally created by Island Records founder Chris Blackwell as he produced hits for the music industry’s most prolific artists, Compass Point, the chic and sexy Bahamas retreat in Nassau, is a contemporary sanctuary that inspires creativity and romance. Now, in an exciting announcement, Compass Point is joining Blackwell’s Island Outpost collection of chic Caribbean properties and is scheduled for re-opening December 1, 2006.
Adjacent to the hip Love Beach, Compass Point will serve as a cool island escape for both A-listers and trend-setters alike; rest, relaxation and privacy thrive at this serene, secluded destination.
Compass Point is a celebration of bold imagination, as reflected in the brighter designs of its signature architecture. The property’s 18 huts sit at water’s edge, each overlooking the turquoise-colored sea. Huts are comprised of two-story cottages and single cabanas glowing with vivid Junkanoo colors. Interior décor is all about comfort, with natural wood floors, white-washed walls and island accents. Amenities include flat screen televisions, CD players & CD libraries, DVD players, wireless Internet and Aveda hair & skincare products.
Compass Point’s re-opening integrates a dramatically redesigned restaurant with expanded seating, where bright colors of yellow and orange with red accents perpetuate a feel of sunrise and sunset. The bar scene has a few new players here as well. Guests sip on their favorite island concoction while sitting outside at the 30-foot Ocean Bar, or give cheers to friends inside at the cozy Alcove Bar. A novel lounge area off the main dining room makes the perfect spot for intimate conversations.
Guests embrace the beach at Compass Point with snorkeling, as well as authentic land, sea and eco tours arranged by the property’s staff. A freshwater pool and nearby golf course are also available for guests’ enjoyment.
A short drive to Cable Beach and downtown Nassau, Compass Point ensures nightlife and shopping is close at hand, yet still provides an air of privacy and seclusion. The property is only 10 minutes from Nassau International Airport, with regular flights from New York, Miami or Fort Lauderdale and major international cities.
Rates, effective for travel from December 1, 2006-April 16, 2007, range from $270 to $460. Rates are per room, per night based on double occupancy and do not include 20% tax and service.
