St Mary Fisherman's Cooperative present their 8th Annual Marlin Tournament
The purpose of the tournament is to raise awareness of the cooperative on a community level, to raise funds for the upkeep of the cooperative and to provide an occassion for local fisherman to come together and compete in deep sea fishing.This years funds raised for the Cooperative will go towards desperately needed safety equipment required to equip and licence local fishing boats.
Fishing boat participants will set out to sea at 8am and return at 4pm.
Whilst the fishermam are at sea, there will be a fun day for the local community. Activities will include a Bonuce A Bout for the children, swimming races, modeling competition, DJ contest, Fish Fry.
There will be various prizes and trophys for the Marlin Tournament winners - 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners. Plus a prize and trophy for "the pretttiest boat".
This is a grass roots community based event.

It is an annual event that takes place every October. A one day, deep sea, game fish tournament, that is open to the public, but patronized mainly by local fisherman from Oracabessa and the surrounding north coast towns.
The tournament is held at Oracabessa Bay - next door to Goldeneye.
