While we have all grown accustomed to the minor disruptions that can happen due to weather from July through November, we want to be sure that all of our travelers are fully versed in the Island Outpost Hurricane Policy for 2007.

We will always do our best to look out for your interests by providing a maximum level of safety and security, and we hope that that the policy outlined below for our Jamaican properties will provide you with further peace of mind.

Island Outpost utilizes the official website of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (www.noaa.gov) to determine projected path and strength probabilities of impending storms.  In the event that a Hurricane Warning (as defined by the U.S. National Weather Service) is issued for Jamaica , we would like you to be aware of the following policy, which will be applicable to each of our Jamaican properties: The Caves, Negril; Strawberry Hill, Blue Mountains; Goldeneye, Oracabessa; and Jake's, Treasure Beach :

1. In the event a Hurricane Warning is issued, while you are already enjoying a stay at one of the above Jamaican resorts, you may opt to leave the property and receive either a) a refund of the unused portion of the stay or b) a travel credit for a similar time period the following year for the number of nights interrupted.

2. In the event that you have booked a stay at any above resorts, but have not yet arrived, and a Hurricane Warning is issued, the following options are available to you:

• You may elect to arrive after the Hurricane Warning is discontinued for the same number of room nights, in which case, the hotel will make every effort to confirm the dates and room category, and guarantee no resort rate increase providing the arrival and departure dates are within the same rate period as initially purchased, or
• Hotel will issue a full credit for travel in the same period, which will be valid for up to one year. The replacement stay will be in an equivalent room category to the one originally booked. Dates will be subject to availability, and may also be subject to blackout date restrictions.

Please note that our Hurricane Policy applies to our room rates only, and not to airfare. We hope you will understand that this offer may be subject to change and may be withdrawn at any time without notice. In addition, Island Outpost strongly advocates the purchase of Travel Insurance in order to minimize any potential financial loss.
