Jamaica (April 27, 2006) – Island Outpost, whose chic
intimate properties provide relaxation and rejuvenation
for guests in secluded, lush surroundings, is now
enhancing the experience even more with new Chic Shack
packages at three of its popular retreats in Jamaica.
Starting at $1,695, discerning travelers can book a Chic
Shack package at Goldeneye, Jake’s or Strawberry Hill,
which were recently honored by Elle (UK) Magazine’s
First Annual Chic Shack Awards this April. Jake’s was
honored as the overall #1 ‘chic shack.’ These new Chic
Shack packages, which run through December 15, 2006,
embrace the new face of an island getaway – simplistic,
small and stylish, ensuring relaxation and romance in
beautiful remote locations.
Designed to provide guests with options for utter
relaxation or fun-filled adventures – their choice –
Island Outpost’s Chic Shack packages take the hassle out
of planning getaways, ensuring a laid-back experience
from the start. Packages include five nights of
accommodations and extras outlined
below:
Jake’s Treasure Beach Hotel, Treasure Beach, Jamaica
:
Jake’s Treasure Beach, a 29-room bohemian resort set
on six acres of land in Treasure Beach, is a hotspot for
hip guests and locals alike. Dramatic cottages commune
with the garden, sea and sky, near a secluded fishing
village. Moroccan domes and arches bloom. Decks skim the
waves. Shells, beads and colored glass glitter brightly
from walls.
Jake’s Chic Shack package provides an opportunity for
guests to stay in one of the resort’s original 24 "chic
shacks," as voted by Vogue magazine, includes a trip to
the legendary Pelican Bar (dubbed the coolest bar in the
Caribbean for those in the know), round-trip airport
transfers and a sunset dinner at the famed Lovers Leap.
Jake’s Chic Shack package also includes two therapeutic
steam ‘sessions’ and massages with local Rastafari
legend Shirley. Rates for this five-night package start
at $1,695 based on double occupancy.
Goldeneye, Oracabessa, Jamaica :
The birthplace of James Bond, this 15-acre seaside
hideaway was home to author Ian Fleming as he wrote his
13 most famous spy novels. Fleming’s retreat is now a
boutique resort laced with beaches, tropical forests and
secluded nooks, a lush setting which found its way into
many 007 adventures. Four intimate villas on the sea,
one overlooking a cove, attract celebrities and other
lovers of natural beauty.
Goldeneye’s Chic Shack package lets guests choose
between skimming the coastline on a complimentary Jet
Ski Safari or enjoying a tour of Firefly, the former
home of British playwright Sir Noel Coward. Rates for
this five-night package start at $3,750 based on double
occupancy.
Strawberry Hill Living, Irish Town, Jamaica:
Set on a former coffee estate, steps from the
neighborhoods that inspired Bob Marley’s soulful lyrics,
Strawberry Hill boasts sweeping views of Jamaica’s Blue
Mountains and the Caribbean Sea, all bathed in lush
mountain mists. Twelve airy cottages cluster beside the
Caribbean’s only Aveda Concept Spa, located at the
property. Wood-shingled and gracious, the architecture
reflects the original nineteenth-century buildings that
once stood here with cooling louvers, ceiling fans,
fretwork and gables.
Strawberry Hill’s Chic Shack package serves as an
introduction to the resort ’s Elemental approach,
beginning with a signature Aveda Elemental Nature
Questionnaire. This allows therapists to create
personalized treatments and self-care rituals based on
each guest’s elemental sign, bringing them back into
balance with a stress relieving treatment. The Elemental
approach carries through guests’ stay here, as the
property suggests dining options and activities in order
to maintain this key balance throughout guests’ stay.
Starting at $3,775 for five nights based on double
occupancy, Strawberry Hill Living’s Chick Shack package
includes three guided hikes and the choice of a tour of
St. Mark’s chapel, Craighton Coffee Plantation, the
Gordon Town Trail or a beach day with a picnic at the
famous Lime Key beach.
