Celebrating The Legend - A Tribute to Bob Marley

Strawberry Hill and The Bob Marley Foundation pay tribute to Bob Marley during the Smile Jamaica Africa Unite 2008 programme of events at the Natural Mystic Dinner and Celebration of the 63rd Birthday of the Hon. Robert Nesta Marley OM on Wednesday, February 6. The Dinner starts at 7:00pm at the Strawberry Hill Hotel, Irish Town . The event’s title sponsor, Stocks & Securities Ltd. Stocks and Securities Ltd. This eminent fundraiser features a tantalizing feast of authentic Jamaican cuisine, live entertainment and never before seen exhibits. Part-proceeds of this event go to the Bob Marley Foundation and the Strawberry Hill Community Music Program.

This experience will be shared with the Marley family and friends, while video footage of Bob Marley performances will be shown. Memorabilia and pictures from the Bob Marley Museum will also be presented for display.

Live entertainment and music will be provided by the I Threes and Etana with Lloyd Parkes and We The People Band, as well as a special selection from the current roster of Tuff Gong artistes. All MC’d by everyone’s favorite Tommy Cowan.

The entertainment will be accompanied by cocktails and buffet styles dining that include vegetarian cuisine by the legendary Sister Minnie, a dear friend and former chef of Bob Marley. Other authentic Jamaican dishes will be prepared by world renowned Strawberry Hill Chef Kingsley.

The night's activities will be concluded with the cutting of Bob’s birthday cake by Mrs. Rita Marley, and Hollywood film actor Mr. Danny Glover.

All are invited to enjoy the live performances, authentic cuisine and a genuine reggae vibe. This is the official dinner celebration in honour of the life of Jamaica 's Musical Legend, The Hon. Robert Nesta Marley OM.

Contributions are set at $5,500 per person, which includes selected drinks and all food. A special of $5000 per person will be for reserved tables of 8 or more people. Seated dining is available by reservation. Limited tickets available. Shuttle bus departs from UWI every half hour.
